Ramblings after work: Adventures in Retail. Musings of a college student working her way through life. Tuesday, December 25, 2007. I don't like to cry. I especially don't like to cry in public. There's something so humiliating about putting yourself out there like that. There's something shameful in being honest about your emotions with other people. I don't know why, but that's the way it is. I can remember several moments that I've cried in public:. In fifth grade, when I had a 103 degree fever. But th...

Ethically Uncertain’s Weblog. What happened to people’s morals? This is why I haven’t eaten beef for over six years…. I read something pretty sickening in a Chicago Tribune article. Has deemed it acceptable to sell and distribute beef contaminated with certain strands of the E. Coli bacterium. Millions of pounds of beef test positive for a virulent strand of E. Coli and are still distributed every year. Has denied this. In answers to written questions from the Tribune, department officials said the U...

mind your music: Beardsley: Fighting Strangers in the Alps
http://mindyourmusicblog.blogspot.com/2008/01/beardsley-fighting-strangers-in-alps.html
Wednesday, March 5, 2008. Beardsley: Fighting Strangers in the Alps. Longtime local band Beardsley. First full-length project, Fighting Strangers in the Alps. What kind of music do a bunch of lumberjacks make, you ask? You'll just have to take a listen. The album also supports other local artists, such as Mark Harman, from Orlando's So Help Me Rifle. Beardsley is planning a release party March 15 in Orlando. I'll keep you posted on the details. Let's not forget to support local music! Stuff to check out.

Ethically Uncertain’s Weblog. What happened to people’s morals? MTV’s new show, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila,. Fortunately I missed it, however tonight I caught the first 15 minutes of the show, and I don’t plan on seeing anymore. Ever. The show is a reality show of course, god forbid MusicTV plays MUSIC! Whore- basically, with over 2 million “friends,” is looking for love. With the help of MTV she has 32 people compete for her attention. The catch: she’s bisexual. The concept of this show disgusts me.

Ethically Uncertain’s Weblog. What happened to people’s morals? Babies are not something to show off when you’re a teen. I stopped by International Plaza Mall. Tonight, and was disturbed as usual. But not by the usual yuppies and their. This and their Louis. That, rather by a teenage girl walking around the mall with her newborn child. I don’t know if teens got the memo yet, but babies are not the newest, coolest, trendiest accessory. They are not equivalent to:. Or to Jimmy Choos. I don’t get it. Unless...

mind your music: Kevin Devine
http://mindyourmusicblog.blogspot.com/2008/02/kevin-devine.html
Thursday, February 7, 2008. Dave Elkins of Mae, Kevin Devine with The Jealous Girlfriends. Friday, February 1, 2008. Love Politics. Kevin Devine. Acoustics all around, Kevin Devine mastered the stage, playing a lengthy set of songs. He even did some songs "full band" version, with help from The Jealous Girlfriends. A fun, retro band from Brooklyn). I wasn't expecting Dave Elkins, guitarist and lead singer of Mae. Well, at least this show was quite the serenade. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
